Call for Papers

The SMC'07 organizers invite the submission of papers related, but in no way limited, to the conference topics. Besides usual presentations of a paper with a talk, presentations with posters and/ or with interactive demonstrations are encouraged. Posters and interactive demonstrations will by no means be considered as a second choice form of communication. Preliminary and final versions of the documents must be sent electronically. Printed papers sent via postal mail will not be accepted.

Types of Submissions

  • Full papers: 8 pages maximum in the proceedings, oral presentation or demonstration
  • Posters: 4 pages maximum in the proceedings, poster presentation or demonstration
  • Studio reports: 4 pages maximum in the proceedings, oral presentation

The official language of the Conference, in which all proposals should be submitted, is English.


Submission Instructions

The review process will be performed from the electronic submissions. The following instructions give you basic guidelines for preparing submissions of full papers, poster papers and studio reports. After the acceptance, the camera-ready final versions for the conference proceedings must follow the same format as the proposals. All submitted proposals will be peer reviewed by at least two independent referees from the SMC07 Scientific Committee.

Preparation of proposals

Prepare your Full paper or Poster paper or Studio Report according to one of the following double-column templates:

Make sure to use the A4 (210mm by 297mm or 8.27" by 11.69") layout. Convert your proposal in PDF format.

Proposals should be: maximum eight (8) pages long for the full papers and maximum four (4) pages long for the posters and studio reports. All submissions must be written in English.

All proposals must be sent electronically only in PDF format to:

Please indicate in your e-mail the type of your submission: Paper, Poster or Studio Report.

Kindly assure that the final version of your PDF file prints correctly before submission. To see what these look like, here is a PDF version of the template:

All submissions will be acknowledged by an e-mail within the next 24 hours from their mailing. If you do not receive such an acknowledgement after 24 hours from your submission, please contact the organization committee at SMC07@di.uoa.gr.

Preparation of Camera-ready papers

After the acceptance, the camera-ready final versions of the Full papers, Poster Papers and Studio Reports for the conference proceedings must follow the same format as the original proposals. Detailed instructions will be sent to the authors of the accepted proposals.

Full papers over 8 pages of length and posters or studio reports over 4 pages of length will not be included in the Conference Proceedings

Poster presentations

After the acceptance, the posters must be prepared so that their appearance looks like the pattern:

The above is an example of the recommended format. This is for guidance only and no template is provided. Your poster shouldn't occupy more than a space equivalent to A0 (1189 mm x 841 mm), either portrait or landscape.

More details (e.g. size) will be sent to the authors of the accepted poster proposals.

Concerts and sound/ video installations

Propositions for music are invited by the official associations of electroacoustic music, which collaborate with SMC07. Please contact Ioannis Zannos [ zannos@gmail.com ] for further information. There will be three concerts and two sound-video installation sessions.
